How to convert hourly pay to salary
Multiply your hourly rate by the hours you work each week, then by the number of paid weeks in a year. At $25 an hour, 38 hours a week and 52 weeks, that's $25 × 38 × 52 = $49,400 a year. A standard US full-time week is 40 hours (2,080 hours a year); in Australia it's 38.
To go the other way, divide your salary by your yearly hours. A $60,000 salary over 40-hour weeks is $60,000 ÷ 2,080 ≈ $28.85 an hour.
What this doesn't include
Figures are before tax, superannuation or retirement deductions, overtime and bonuses. If you're unpaid for some weeks, such as casual or contract work, lower the paid weeks per year.
